At the bottom of the lane you'll find the Butt and Oyster .A 17th Century smugglers pub, the main bar is a listed interior. The Butt is popular all year round for drinking and dining. In summer there is a constant trail of weary sailors from Woolverstone Marina for whom the promise of a pint and fresh fish 'n' chips has carried them through a difficult pasage. | ||||||

Looking toward King's Yard from the Butt and Oyster King's has been building and repairing wooden yachts since 1898, the site had been worked by George Garrard since 1850.
