Members can sail with us on a berth basis without any qualifications. When club trips are planned we will match experienced and novice members. This is a great way to get started, however once you have decided sailing is for you we recomend you take an RYA course.
In order to use one of our yachts as a bareboat members must be qualified to RYA Day Skipper for Marcita or RYA Coastal Skipper for Caressa. If you do not have either of the above qualifications, you can take a course with us. Incidentally we are one of the few training centres to use a yacht with a tiller.
RYA courses are run on Caressa over 5 days from Saturday to Wednesday. Ideally you will join the boat on the Friday evening to acclimatise and be finished by around 1600 on Wednesday.
Max number of pupils on each course: 4. Price includes tuition, all expenses except food and drink.

Competent Crew Practical Course |
This is for beginners and those who would like to become active crew members rather than just passengers. By the end of the course you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day to day routines. |

| This practical course gives you a chance to take charge on short passages under instruction with plenty of advice and help from the instructor. Designed for tidal waters. |

| Coastal Skipper Practical Sailing Course (Tidal) |
| For the more ambitious sail cruising skipper wanting to undertake coastal passages by day and night. Each trainee will skipper a passage in a variety of situations. |
