Joining Fee
Join the club for the annual subscription of £50. Then buy the points you need to go sailing.

Membership gives you the following;
-A Classic Day Out on the River Orwell. An afternoon or morning sailing from our base in Pin Mill along on one of England's most unspoilt rivers, the Orwell. (Alternatively, if you prefer, you can take a credit of 5 points to go towards a charter or berth on a club trip)
-Invitation to social and shore based events
-Access to members online forum. We will put you in contact with other members looking for crew.
-Club Discounts of up to 25% off clothing andf equipment.
-Classic Boat subscription at a special rate.

Getting Afloat

We have various options to suit your budget and sailing requirements.

Sail with other members, share their bareboat charters

Buy points to sail on club organised events. These are great if you do not have the experience or confidence to take a yacht unsupervised. We organise regular events where members can get aboard on a berth basis. Points cost varies with each trip. See events page for details.

Bareboat Charter.

The table below shows the number of points required to bareboat charter any yacht on any particular day. To calculate the points required for any one day first find out which band the yacht is in. Find the the season and which day of week. Read down the relevant band, this will be the points cost for that day. For charter longer than one day, work out the points for each day and add them together.

You can join online and buy points by clicking here or simply call 0870 3001066 to ask for an application form or download one from this page, then post it with your reference and membership fee to Classic Sailing Club, Dunstan House, St Cross St., London, EC1N 8XA

To become a member requires no qualifications, however for bareboat charter qualifications required for the skipper are as follows
Members must be over 21
VHF Licence*
Sailing Licence. Bands 1-3 RYA Day Skipper,  Bands 4-5 RYA Coastal Skipper*
